Science Days
CSI combines science and forensic investigation with a creative twist. Students will all have a part to play in solving one of our three cases, where they will conduct forensic and detective training before analysing a crime scene. When students enter the crime scene, they dust for fingerprints and take blood samples, then conduct interrogations and interviews to determine the culprit.
iApprentice teaches participants basic business principles by creating their own business model. Throughout the level, they will compete in an 'Apprentice' type task leading to a 'Dragons' Den' style presentation of their business idea. The level will take participants through creating a business plan, budgeting and marketing before presenting the idea to the class.
Suitable for : Y5 & Y6 Duration: Full Day (9am - 3pm)
Participants will begin with training before solving a crime that has happened right in front of their eyes. Students will need to be thorough in their investigation, break codes and use good observational and communication skills if they want to solve this crime. Science and Math skills are put to the test in a real-life scenario. Who will solve the crime?
Students will research and plan a mission into space. They will create a short presentation detailing their exploration, before calculating the science behind a space launch. Once they have built a rocket and a platform to launch from, it will be time to blast off! Using simulation apps the students will be able to see if their journey comes to fruition and send a rocket off into space to complete their mission. Once in space the students will be able to gather data from stars and planets using NASA and Hubble telescope apps and then present their findings.
Key learning outcomes: Understand the science behind a rocket launch, Problem solving and Team work.
