iSecure

Our iSecure course offers a comprehensive approach to digital literacy, equipping children with essential skills and strategies for using digital devices safely and responsibly. The course covers a wide range of topics to help students think critically about the digital world. Alongside exploring safe online practices, Key Stage 2 pupils will become familiar with key functions in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and the iOS app Keynote. These applications provide students with the opportunity to develop important skills such as document creation, data management, and presentation design, while also improving their typing proficiency. The course also delves into key aspects of digital literacy, including online gaming, sticky game design, digital reputation, online contact, social media, and the challenges of cyberbullying. Through this hands-on learning experience, pupils not only gain practical knowledge for later life but also build a strong foundation for confident and responsible digital citizenship.

Aligned with the Early Learning Goals, this course introduces pupils to technology and the fundamental rules for using digital devices safely and respectfully. Through hands-on activities, they will explore how to handle physical technology responsibly while developing key digital skills. Encouraging collaboration and sharing, the course also helps pupils discover how an iPad can be used for both learning and play, fostering a balanced and positive relationship with technology.

Lite 1
iSafety

Pupils will develop their digital literacy by learning the fundamentals of the internet and safe digital device use. Through real-life scenarios, they will explore potential online risks and develop strategies to avoid or respond to them safely. This course also introduces key aspects of information technology, ensuring pupils understand the correct procedures to follow and know who to turn to if they have any e-safety concerns.

Lite 2
iConnect

iConnect empowers pupils with essential knowledge of data, digital literacy, and e-safety. Through engaging lessons, they will explore data handling, gaining a deeper understanding of how information is collected, used, and shared in the digital world. A strong focus on digital literacy will help pupils make informed decisions about the data they provide, recognise how others connect with them through digital platforms, and critically assess online interactions. Additionally, they will develop key e-safety strategies, ensuring they can navigate technology safely and responsibly. This course builds the confidence and awareness needed to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Key Stage 2
Level 1
iSafety

Pupils will combine leaning how to stay safe while on a digital device with learning how to operate Office 365 programs. Our E-Safety module covers Cyber Bullying, Online Gaming, Trust, Digital Reputation, Location Permissions, Online Contact and Social Media. All of these topics are covered alongside learning how to use the basic functions within Word and Excel.

Level 2
iSocial

Pupils will be presented with a hypothetical scenario where all social media platforms have been removed from the internet. They will then be tasked with designing and creating their own social media platform to fill the gap in the market. Throughout the half term, pupils will use more advanced functions in Word to plan their ideas before finally collating them into a Keynote ready to be presented to their peers.

Level 3
iCompany

iCompany is an Excel based course. Pupils will begin with a recap of basic Excel knowledge gained in Level 1 before moving on to more advanced functions within the app. Their task is to act as movie producers and decide on a style of animated movie to put into production. Working in pairs, pupils will start by inputting and analysing data allowing them to make important production decisions. The class will develop their Excel skills and learn how to successfully use a variety of advanced functions within a spreadsheet.

Level 4
iC.V

Your local council has advertised for a new Superhero to combat local crime. Pupils must use all the skills they have learnt during Levels 1, 2 and 3 on Excel, Word and Keynote, to design and present their hero. Pupils will learn how to create and correctly format a CV, how to add hyperlinks into a Word document and extrapolate data from Excel in order to design a successful candidate CV.
