Healthy Living at Holiday Clubs!
As part of Junior Jam’s HAF funded Holiday Clubs, we promote healthy eating and lifestyles for the children who attend.
The children are provided with a free packed lunch that includes lots of healthy snacks. Children receive a sandwich, a yoghurt, cucumber and carrot sticks, some fruit, a home bake, and a Fruit Shoot. It’s healthy, balanced AND yummy!
Children are taught about what a healthy, balanced diet looks like and about the different food groups. They even get to plan their own healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We also make learning about a healthy lifestyle as fun as possible. We incorporate promoting the importance of exercise into all our fun sports sessions, advising that children get a minimum of 60 minutes exercise each day.
Children also learn about the importance of getting a good night’s sleep.
We at Junior Jam believe that providing children with knowledge to make healthy choices sets them up for the future. Making healthy choices and getting a good night’s sleep significantly improves learning and attainment.
