iMedia PPA Cover taster session in Leeds
Last week I was out in Leeds delivering an iMedia taster lesson to a new customer. All our customers get the chance to try Junior Jam before booking which is good for several reasons. Firstly, schools get a chance to meet staff and gain a better insight into Junior Jam PPA lessons and how they run. It is also a great chance for our PPA cover staff to show off their computing skills and get students inspired in new topics such as Music Production. I had the pleasure of teaching a year six class all about Music Production with a focus on Hip Hop music. The learning objectives for the lessons were: to have gained an understanding of Hip-Hop music including its key characteristics and origins, and to be able to creatively utilise the functions within Garageband to create a Hip-Hop song. Students really enjoyed listening to the examples and learning about common instruments and techniques used to create Hip-Hop and Urban music. The students even taught me a fact about New York city, the birthplace of Hip-Hop music. Did you know that each year more people are bitten by New Yorkers then sharks? Well neither did I. You learn something new every day, which is one of the many perks of being a PPA cover teacher for Junior Jam.
