Saying Goodbye to Holiday Clubs 2024!

As our 2024 HAF funded Holiday Clubs come to an end, we wanted to take a moment and reflect on all the fun and exciting times that we’ve had over the last five weeks.

There have been some amazing Sports Stars, who have impressed us with their skills at all the clubs. Everybody seemed to really enjoy the games of Dodgeball at the beginning and end of each club, particularly when it was children versus instructors. Kick Rounders and Kwik Cricket seemed to be favourites amongst all clubs and really brought out the friendly competitiveness in the children who attended. We even had a few impromptu Dance and Gymnastic lessons at a few of our clubs thanks to our instructor, Yasmin.

We also had some really creative projects brought to life at our Summer Clubs. We’ve had some fun Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop and even Jazz songs composed during our innovative sessions. Then, there have been so many inventive Album Covers and Music Videos to accompany these songs. We’ve also had some interesting superheroes created, with their very own movie posters.

Children who attended our HAF funded clubs were those who received free school meals during term time. As part of the Holiday Clubs, all children received a free and healthy packed lunch, alongside information on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet.

It has been a pleasure for Junior Jam to run these HAF funded Holiday Clubs and give back to our local community in Bradford. It has been a rewarding experience for Junior Jam staff, who have worked hard to ensure that children enjoyed the Holiday Clubs and were engaged in the activities.

Here are some of Junior Jam’s staff favourite moments from this year’s Holiday Clubs.

My favourite part of Holiday Clubs was seeing the kids make their own music and how proud they felt of themselves when finishing.” – Ellie, Support Instructor.

“I loved seeing all the kids take part in the sports activities and give it their all, whether it was their favourite sport or not. They all brought a competitive energy.” – Ben, Sports Instructor.

My standout moments have been when the kids get to watch their finished movies and music videos back, and seeing how creative their ideas are!” – Beth, Media Instructor.

Seeing the kids’ faces light up as they realised that they were making music. It was nice to see them understand that they were making an actual song and get excited about it.” – Hayden, Music & Media Instructor.

One of my favourite parts of the Holiday Clubs has been seeing all the children grow in confidence and form new friendships.” – Lauren, Support Instructor.
